Over the years we have seen tens of thousands of SMS communications and marketing campaigns go through the iTagg system. We've chatted to thousands of clients from different business sectors, charities and government bodies and we've seen what works and what doesn't when it comes to SMS.
We've also poured tens of thousands of hours into assisting clients with planning, preparing and sending SMS campaigns as well as helping to review their delivery and response reports. So whilst iTagg historically offered a self-service platform for businesses, after 16 years we believe we have some of the best expertise in the industry when it comes to all things SMS.
Many of you who are marketing companies, resellers, value-added software vendors or even end-businesses now realise that SMS delivery is something you must have in your customer/user communications and marketing toolbox. But we appreciate many of you are short of time to learn new systems or carry out the work involved. Existing clients have also come to appreciate that we have the experience and tools to prepare campaigns in half the time they can.
As an example of how this can work... just recently we managed an SMS campaign for a new client who runs a successful internet retail website decided to trial iTagg against one of the "me-too" self-service text marketing providers. They had previously decided on using the competitor's platform, but at the last minute realised their spreadsheet of numbers needed a lot of tidying before it would be acceptable. This was where they found that the other provider offered no flexibility, took 7 hours to respond to support tickets and had no managed-campaign service. So they called us at 11am, wanting to send a 50,000 trial SMS campaign at 5pm that same day.
The spreadsheet needed to have other columns removed as well as spaces, plus-signs, miscellaneous alphabetic characters, and all manner of strange marketing information stripped out. Many numbers had originally been input by the owners into the client website with no kind of formatting applied. In a word, the file was a mess. The client, even at this late stage had no idea on the best wording to use in a text campaign, and with the greatest of respect to them as a successful internet brand, their suggested message contained typos, poor grammar and various words in shouty block capitals! iTagg SMS Bureau to the rescue.
Having agreed a one-off campaign fee, the client emailed us the file and some further ideas on what they were trying to achieve. Ninety minutes later one of our experts together with some specialised in-house tools had cleaned the 50,000 numbers (and de-duplicated them down to 43,274, thus saving the client money). We had also finalised the message wording and ensured it fitted in to 160 characters (anything over can cost clients more!). We sent a test SMS to the client, showed them the final file, and they signed-off via email. We had the campaign queued in the iTagg system by 4:30pm and scheduled for sending at 5pm on the dot.
